Daniel Fredrick Williams, age 66, of Osawatomie, KS died Saturday February 12, 2022 at the Olathe Hospice House surrounded by family.
Danny was born January 6, 1956 in Paola, KS. He was the second of three children born to Estel Irl and Ruth Ellis (Barkley) Williams. He grew up in Osawatomie where he attended school, graduating with the class of 1974.
A month after graduating, Danny went to work for the Missouri Pacific Railroad which later became Union Pacific Railroad. He was an engineer for nearly 30 years before his retirement in the 2000’s.
On June 14, 1981, Danny and Linda L. Polston were united in marriage in Osawatomie, KS where they made their home.
In his spare time, Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and taxidermy. Danny was an instructor for hunter safety courses. He loved country cruising and looking for deer. He and Linda raised Labrador retrievers. He was an amazing artist. He enjoyed watching westerns and spoiling his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Elks and Kansas Bowhunters Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Linda, and his parents.
Survivors include his sisters, Shirley (Steve) Law of Osawatomie, KS, and Gayle Hall of Osawatomie, KS. Niece Christine (Frank Clinton) Carver of Fort Scott, KS, nephew Garrett (Sara) Hall of Osawatomie, KS, and nephew through marriage Jess Keller, great nephew Kaeden Carver and two great nieces Finley and Parker Hall. Along with other family and friends that will miss him greatly.
