Danny M. Frye, age 70 of Osawatomie, KS died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Miami County Medical Center in Paola, KS.

Danny was born February 10, 1947 in Necedah, Wisconsin.  He was born to Dale Murrey and Antionette Louise (Devieto) Frye.  Danny attended elementary school in Wisconsin and graduated high school at Tonganoxie High School.  After high school he enlisted in the Navy and served his country for four years.

On April 27, 1977, in Miami, Oklahoma, Carol Darlene Owens and Danny Merle Frye were united in marriage.  Danny drove a dump truck for many years to support his loving family.  The kids remember him driving the dump truck home when they lived in Tonganoxie.  Danny was a member of the JC’s in Tonganoxie. And included the kids in many of the JC’s functions.  Carol Darlene Frye passed away February 25, 2005 in Osawatomie, Kansas.  Danny retired in 2008 from Metal West, LLC where he was hired on as the first truck driver for the company back in 1999.

Danny was a generous person.  He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  He was known as “Papa” or “Pops” to all of his family.  Danny loved spending time at the river visiting with family and friends and of course, fishing.  A bonfire was usually part of time spent at the river where laughter and love were always shared.  He also loved watching his westerns.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carol Darlene Frye.

He is survived by his children Solon “Budd” Moore, Jr. of Paola, KS, Joyce Windler of Paola, KS, Renee Wells of Eureka Springs, AR and Deanna Holliday, of Osawatomie, KS, sister Donna Holt, of Kansas City, MO and Denise Mureen Frye, of Overland Park, KS.  Eleven grandchildren:  “David Patrick” Frye-Holliday, Travis Wayne Frye-Holliday, Alicia Renee Windler, Nathan Michael Vickers, Danny Robert Vickers, Steven Nicholas Windler, Jessie, LuLu, Marco, Tony, Izzy and five great-grandchildren.  Among other family and friends.
