David Wayne Hall age 59 of Osawatomie, KS died Monday January 1, 2018 at Olathe Medical Center.

David was born March 18, 1958 in Sedalia, Missouri. He was the fourth of nine children born to George Lee & Tessie Elizabeth (Pulley) Hall. David grew up and attended school in the Osawatomie school District. He obtained his General Education Development Diploma from Osawatomie in 1976. He enlisted in the United States Navy that same year.

While in the Navy, David was stationed in Alameda, CA. There he met Glenda Hillard who worked on the military base. On July 6 th , 1980, David and Glenda were united in marriage in Alameda, CA. Together the couple had one daughter, Heather.

David made his career in the Navy. He served during Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He spent most of the time on the Aircraft Carriers USS Ranger and Coral Sea. David was deployed for 8-11 month at a time. During his naval career David and his family were stationed in Honolulu for three years without David being deployed. While in Honolulu, he took courses to become a pilot with the Beach Craft Company. He then became a private pilot.  After 20 years of service, David decided to retire and was honorably discharged on July 31, 1996.

After retirement, David moved back to Osawatomie and lived in the house where he grew up. He worked for Phillip 66, Tech Air and Haven Steele. In his spare time, David loved to rebuild cars and trucks. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything.  He loved to hunt. He made sure that all of his nephews went through hunter’s safety course. He talked on the phone about his many adventures to his daughter Heather, and wife Glenda, in California. David was a lifetime member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his father George Hall Sr., brother Danny Hall and sister Sherry Thompson.

Survivors include wife Glenda Hall and daughter Heather Hall of San Diego, CA. Brothers Bill (Marilyn) Hall of Osawatomie, KS, James Hall of Osawatomie, KS and George (LeeAnna) Hall of Fontana, KS, Sisters Debbie (Harold) Skeen of Rockaway Beach, MO, Brenda Hall of Osawatomie, KS and Lucy Byrd of Harrisonville, MO. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Along with other family and friends.
