Donald Eugene Goudie age 79 of Fontana, KS died Sunday June 26, 2022 at his home.
Don was born March 21, 1943 in Osawatomie, KS. He was the youngest of three born to Scott Leroy and Gladys Elizabeth (Crouch) Goudie.
He attended school in Lane and graduated from Lane High School in the class of 1961.
On March 21, 1962 he married Nancy Milward in Miami County, Kansas. They became the parents of two children; Melissa Dawn and James Scott. After raising their children into adulthood, the marriage ended.
Don worked for Sutherland’s Cattle Company and Donahue’s Cattle Company and Miami County Coop. He began working for Miami County Road and Bridge in the late 80’s driving a road grader. He worked for Miami County until his retirement in 2013. Don owned his own farm where he raised cattle, horses and cut hay.
In his free time, Don worked with his horses. His favorite one was his paint horse, JT. He spent many Friday nights and Saturday mornings working at the Fort Scott Sale Barn.
He loved to work on his farm, but most of all he loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Leroy Goudie and his sister Mary Louise Caylor.
He is survived by his children; Melissa Goudie (Jesse Cole) of Columbia, MO and Scott Goudie (Julie) of Acton, MA. His significant other Lisa Newell of the home. Grandchildren Nathan Boone (Jill), Grant, Kellen and Rhys Goudie and one great granddaughter; Amelia Boone. Along with other family and many friends.
