Graveside service will be 2 pm Wednesday November 14, 2018 at Osawatomie Cemetery.

Dorothy Mae Bennett age 81 of Baldwin City Kansas passed from her earthly home November 9, 2018 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, KS. Dorothy was born January 12, 1937 in Belleville, AR.  She was the third of six children born to James and Hazel Timblin Demmitt. She attended schools around Lane, KS and in 1955 she married Dale L. Castleberry of Osawatomie, KS and to this union was born six children.  They were Sandra Jean, Dale Leroy, Derrell Leon, Lenora Kay, Lonnie Eugene and Geraldine Louise. The marriage ended in divorce and September 1, 1967 she married William Bennett of Paola, KS.  To that union was born William E. Bennett Jr.  She was preceded in death by her husband William, daughter Geraldine Louise, her parents, brother Jimmie, sister Ida Marie, sister Norma Jean and brother Mike Ezra.  Dorothy spend most of her life as a housewife and she loved to be around her family and friends. She is survived by many grand-children, great- grandchildren and a few great great grandchildren and one brother Charles Demmitt and one sister Margaret Barnes.
