Edna Marie (Stephens, Tinsley) Maine

Edna was born on April 15th, 1940 at 12:45 pm in her home. She weighed 7.25 lbs and was 20 inches long. Her mother commented that,
"Edna is a very tiny and very sweet baby". She was born with dark brown hair, and blue eyes, which later turned brown.

Edna passed away on October 16, 2024 at 3:06 pm surrounded by her family and friends. Edna was a kind-hearted and gentle soul who always looked for the positive in every situation. Described as sweet, kind, and sometimes ornery, she was fiercely protective of her family and friends. Edna is survived by her devoted family, daughters Loretta (Doug) Smith from Paola KS, and Debra Deason from Junction City, KS, her son Don "Peewee" Tinsley (Diane Newberry) of Madisonville, TN, and step son William "Billy" Maine and three sisters, Carolyn Hughes of Osawatomie KS, Luella Hughes from Osawatomie KS, Barbara Hutchison from Osawatomie, KS, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mervin Stephens Sr, and Viola Stephens, husband Glen Maine, son Samuel Tinsley, and brothers Mervin Jr & Robert "Bobby" Stephens, Floyd & Lloyd Stephens, Donald "Donnie" Stephens, and great grandsons Gabriel Smith and Dylan Sweat.

Everyone she met was a dear friend, even if she did not know them very well. Many knew mom and loved the many hats she wore, just to make someone smile.
She volunteered at the Clothes Closet in Osawatomie and the Osawatomie Senior Center. She also worked at King Radio for 25 years. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20th, 2024 at 1 p.m. followed by Services at 2 pm.
