Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Wright age 78 of Fontana, KS passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at her home in Fontana, Kansas surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born December 29, 1940 in Parsons, Kansas. She was the youngest of three children born to Ralph and Marjorie (Anderson) Hosey. Betty grew up in Parsons, KS where she attended Catholic School.

In 1962 Betty married George Wright in Wyandotte County, KS. Together the couple had six children, Peggy, Jeff, Mark, Angie, Jill, and Nick. Early in their marriage, they lived in Kansas City, Kansas until 1966 and then moved to their farm in Paola, Ks.  After many years they then moved to Fontana.

Betty’s life revolved around her home. She was a homemaker and raised her six children. For a short time she worked in the kitchen at the Osawatomie State Hospital. Betty loved to cook and she was good at it.  She enjoyed tinkering in her flower gardens, planting, and arranging flowers.  She always looked forward to spring, when she and her family could visit the local greenhouses.  Most of all, Betty’s favorite thing in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Peggy Wright, her parents and Brother Leon Hosey.

Survivors include husband of 56 years George of the home, children, Jeff (Stephanie) Wright of Hillsdale, KS, Mark Wright of Pomona, KS, Angie (Bill) Niesz of Lincoln, NE, Jill (Jon) Rodriguez of Stratford, CT and Nick Wright of Bucyrus, KS. Twelve grandchildren; Stephanie, Clayton, Jayme, Alejandra, Augustus, Wilson, Luke, Matt, Rachel, Riley, Logan and Chase, nine great grandchildren and Sister Rosemary Parise. Along with many other fond family and friends.
