Evelyn S. Spencer age 93 of Rantoul, Kansas passed way peacefully Tuesday June 30, 2020 at her home.

Evelyn was born January 28, 1927 in Couch, MO. She was the fourth of five children born to Charles and Roxie (Wilburn) Sisk. She grew up in Couch where she attended school.

After high school, Evelyn went to work as a waitress. In 1953, she met Carroll Lee Spencer. They married August 27, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri. The couple moved to Spring Hill, Kansas where they made their home and together raised three children.

Over the years, Evelyn worked in food service. She worked for Waids for a number of years, running different locations. Evelyn and Carroll built their home in 1976 on a farm in Rantoul, Kansas. She retired in 1978. She enjoyed farming and raising cattle with Carroll.

Evelyn enjoyed gardening, mowing and tending to her flowers. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing and squirrel hunting. Evelyn was really good at cleaning the fish that everyone caught. Her favorite summer time meal was sweet corn on the cob and fresh peaches. Evelyn's favorite thing was spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She attended Ruhamah Baptist Church of Rantoul.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of almost sixty years Carroll in 2015, her parents, her only son David L. Spencer in 2014, her two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two daughters: Kathryn (Ken) Needs of Bella Vista, Ark, Karen (Mike) Hill of Osawatomie, KS, Brother Jack (Beverly) Sisk of Sibley, MO ;four grandchildren: Jeff (Jennifer) Needs, John (Darlene) Needs, Matt (Holly) McClendon, Dustin (Kara Day) McClendon and six great grandchildren Ty, Kyle, Cullby,Brooklynn, Mason and Ashley and five great great grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
