Frederick Earl Bland.... Age 65

Frederick Earl “Fred” Bland age 65 of Parker, KS died Wednesday October 14, 2020 at his home.

Fred was born December 11, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the second of six children born to Frederick Thomas and Bonney Rose (Fleming) Bland. He grew up in Linn county attending school in the Prairie View School district. Graduating with Prairie View High school Class of 1974.

After school, Fred worked for Jet Flow and then the Coop both in LaCygne. He then answered phones at the Centerville Senior Center of a short time.

Fred enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. You could find him sitting under the oak tree in his yard. Fred loved animals. In the late 70’s, Fred’s family chipped in to get him a parrot. He named it Barney and has had her ever since. Over the years he had two German Shepherds Duchess and Ceaser, a potbellied pig named Blossom and currently had his dog Pete who he loved dearly. Fred also raised turkeys at one time.

Fred was a devoted Christian. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Osawatomie. Over the years he was a Deacon of the church and he taught Junior Boys Sunday School.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother in law LeRoy Turpen.

Survivors include mother Bonney of the home, siblings Rose Turpen of LaCygne, KS, Linda (Danny) Robison Cross Plains, TN, Tom Bland of Parker, KS, Brenda (Bill) Rohrig of Hunter, KS and Marty Bland of Parker, KS. Along with many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
