Gary Michael Blackman... Age 69

Gary Michael Blackman, son of Charles and Mary Stroth Blackman, passed through to his eternal life December 3 ^rd at age 69.  Gary was known to his friends and family as “Mike.”  He fought hard to live but his multiple health issues finally ended his life on earth December.

Mike’s work included building bridges, sheet rocking and concrete work through Local Union 1290.  He was able to figure out most anything that needed fixed.  He worked hard and still had time to spend with his family.  Sometimes this included taking his family with him to help finish a job though😊.  He enjoyed food, especially crab legs, and playing bingo.

His parents, daughter Kelly and brother Donald preceded him in death.

Mike leaves behind his wife Sherry, children- Marcella Russell (Gary of Eudora), Chris Blackman of Olathe, Jeanette Blackman of Gardner, Trina Blackman of Kansas City and 2 stepsons Shane Coyer (Amy of Parker) and Luke Coyer (Lacey of Parker) along with 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Also brothers Larry and Rick Blackman and sisters Mary Strong and Cheryl Roberts as well as many nieces and nephews.
