Gary Haynes, age 67, passed away on February 28, 2018 from acute respiratory failure.  Gary was born on July 4, 1950.  He was raised in the Turner community of Kansas City, KS and had resided in Paola, KS for the past 15 years.  Gary is the father of Mindee (Jon) Szmagalski of Victoria, TX; Shari (Jeremy) Voigt of Victoria, TX; Gary Ryan (Shelby) of Paola, KS; and Randy (Shelly) of Sedalia, MO.  He is Grandpa to nine children with number 10 on the way.  (Josh and Jordan Goodner; Shelbie and Chelsie Voigt; Cael, Brayden, and Wrangler Haynes; Blake and Kierra Haynes)  He is survived by his sisters Gayla Hoit (Shawnee, KS) and Theresa Jones (Independence, MO).  Gary is preceded in death by his father, Robert Haynes and mother Dolores.

Gary worked as a trim carpenter most of his life.  He owned a bait shop for a time and could always be found outside on the river.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking pictures of wild life and a cold beer.  Gary had an infectious smile, a fun sense of humor, was a bit rebellious in his younger days and a maybe a little stubborn in the older ones!  Though a man of few words, it was known that he loved his kids and grandkids.
