Gary Eugene Mayhew age 78 of Fontana, KS died Monday September 14, 2020 at Olathe Medical Center.

Gary was born December 28, 1941 in Parsons, Kansas. He was the fourth child out of seven born to Willard Mayhew and Dorothy (Boettcher) Mayhew. He married on April 4, 1964 to Joy Fern Atkins. Together they had one child, John Eugene Mayhew.

Gary worked various jobs until he found his job at the city of Olathe. He worked for them for 23 years. He retired in 2004.

Gary always was moving. He always has a project to work on and if he wasn’t doing that he enjoyed the little things with friends and family. Like fishing and shooting the breeze.

He was survived by his son John E. Mayhew and his grandson John B. Mayhew. Along with many friends and family.
