Helen Jeanette Creighton age 86 of Ottawa, KS formerly of Lane, KS died Saturday October 14, 2017 at the Ottawa Retirement Village.

Helen was born December 21, 1930 in Lane, Kansas. She was the younger of two daughters born to Clyde Delbert & Elda Geraldine (Callin) Triplett. Helen attended school in Lane graduating from Lane High School.

On November 16, 1953, Helen and James Thaddeus Creighton were united in marriage in Paola, Kansas. Together the couple made their home in Lane. They became the parents of three daughters; Perda, Sheila and Debra. James and Helen lived in Lane until 2008 when they moved to Ottawa.

Helen was a homemaker. She sold Avon for a few years. Also when her daughters got married she made their wedding cakes and would make party cakes for other people.  Helen loved to crochet, do word puzzles and embroider. James always had a garden in the summer and Helen would can many things that came out of the garden. She was a member at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her husband James of 64 years, her parents, sister Arlene Harris and great granddaughter Mya.

Survivors include; Daughters Perda (Wayne) Adkinson of West Valley, UT, Sheila (James) Delaney of Richmond, KS and Debra (Jude) Chino of Lawrence, KS. Four grandchildren Jamie (Arijit Ghosh) Tawney, Cody (Alexis) Delaney, Tyler (Lori) Oestreicher and Megan Oestreicher. Six great grandchildren Kaleb, Kybrin, Aubrey, Kinsley, Evin and Tucker, plus two more on the way. Along with other family and friends.
