James (Jim) Andrew Jenkins, of LaCygne, KS, passed away on Saturday, March 13 at the age of 72. Jim was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on May 31, 1948 to Ray and Loretta Warf Jenkins. He graduated from Fontana High School in 1967. He attended training in Texas for the Army Reserves.
On December 7, 1968, Jim was united in marriage to Terry Dougan. Together, they had three children: Tally Suanne, Thomas Ray and Toni Marie.
Jim worked for the Rock Island Railroad as a machinist apprentice. He then hired on to the Missouri Pacific Railroad and worked as a conductor from 1970 to 2001 when he retired.
Jim loved working on his farm, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He loved taking his grandkids to Wal-Mart and McDonalds. He attended as many of his grandkid’s activities as he could fit on his calendar.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Michael Wayne and Donald Ray. He is survived by his children Tally Fleming (Eric) of LaCygne, KS; Tom Jenkins (Roni) of Amoret, MO; and Toni Cook of Raymore, MO in addition to his sister, Sandy Holbert of Ottawa, KS. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
