Janet Lea Bachman

Janet Lea Bachman age 87 of Paola, KS died Thursday November 28, 2024 at Olathe Hospice House.

Janet was born August 28, 1937 in Osawatomie, KS. She was the youngest of three born to Henry A. and Velma P. (Ewing) Stanley. Janet grew up in Osawatomie were she attended school and graduated with the Osawatomie High School Class of 1955.

On August 31, 1957, Janet and Joseph P. Bachman were united in marriage at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Osawatomie. To this union came three children; Phillip, Rickie and Theresa. While Joe was in the service the couple lived in California and started a family. They then moved to Pittsburg, KS with the kids while Joe went to college. Janet and Joe with their family then moved to Monroeville, PA for five years. Before moving back to Osawatomie, KS in 1993, Janet and Joe lived in Orange and Baytown, Texas.

Janet enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting. She loved going antique shopping. Every year, Janet and a couple family members would travel to Estes Park, CO. Her favorite activity was being with family. She was a member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Albert and Arthur Stanley.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Joe of the home, children; Phillip Bachman of Grandview, MO Rickie Bachman of Thomball, TX and Theresa Bachman of Paola, KS, six grandchildren; Tabitha Virgo, Heather Friend, Philip P. Bachman, Lauren Smith, Megan Bachman and Shelby Diehl, great grandchildren; Christopher, Jesse, Toni, Waylon, Kepler, Marin, Ella, Eden and baby Conway on the way. Janet is also survived by other family and friends.
