Jefferson Perky Cole

Jefferson Perky Cole age 70 of Richmond, KS formerly of Osawatomie died Monday August 14, 2023 at his home surround by his wife and daughters.

Jeff was born June 23, 1953 in Paola, KS. He was one of six born to Jefferson Irvin “Perkey” and Dorothy Louise (Veilbig) Cole. Jeff grew up in Osawatomie where he attended school.

On October 25, 1980, Jeff and Carol Johnson were united in marriage in Paola, KS. They made their home in Osawatomie. To this union came three daughters, Christie, Arlene and Jamie. Jeff and Carol renewed their vows on October 14, 2022.

Jeff worked as a milk man, welder and did concrete work. He mowed 43 yards per week at one time. Jeff then started working at gas stations. He worked as a manager at Casey’s, a cashier at Philip 66 and then at Oz Mart in Osawatomie with his wife Carol.

In his free time, Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing and country cruising. His favorite thing was spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and most of all his wife.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Arlene Cole, his parents, sister Bonnie Kendrick and sister Jennifer McCoy.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years Carol of the home, daughters Christie Cole and Jamie (Leland) Kimball. Nine grandchildren; James, Caleb, John, Alyssa, Dylan, Lane, Tristan, Ethan and Bossen. Siblings Donna Morris, Tammy Morris and Bobby Cole. Along with other family and friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Crossroads Hospice. Jeff went on their services in august 2022 and they assisted with renewing the vows between Jeff and Carol with the Gift of the day program.
