Joanne Lavonne Steinbach... Age 83

Joanne will be cremated and a graveside service will be at a later date at Osawatomie Cemetery

Joanne Lavonne (Jorgenson) Steinbach age 83 of Bellingham, WA died February 28, 2022 at Avamere Bellingham Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
Joanne was born October 29, 1938 in Harlan, IA. She was the only daughter and eldest child of Melvin and Berneice (Kay) Peters. She attended school in Avoca, graduating with the Avoca High School Class of 1957.
Joanne married Ronald Royal Barrett on June 15, 1957 at Naval Air Station Moffet Field, California. From this union would come the birth of six children; Michael, LaVonne, Jannette, Daniel, Gary and Ronald. They made their home all over the United States. The marriage later ended in divorce.
In 1990, Joanne and Glen Leroy Steinbach were united in marriage in the state of Washington. They made their home in Auburn, WA before moving to Lane, KS in 1998. They became very involved with the Lane Fair and the Lane community. In 2008, Joanne and Glen moved to Buckeye, AZ and then to Sun City West, AZ. After seven years of living in Arizona, Joanne and Glen made their home in Bonners Ferry, ID in 2017.
In her free time, Joanne loved to sew and quilt. In her later years, Joanne was very involved in genealogy.
She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Barrett, grandson Brock Barrett, her parents and one brother Donald Peters.
Survivors include her husband Glen of Bellingham, WA, children Michael (Kathy) Barrett of Leawood, KS, LaVonne Barrett of Lone Jack, MO, Jan (Mike) Marsh of Osawatomie, KS, daughter-in-law Pam Barrett of Nixa, MO, Gary Barrett of Paola, KS and Ron (Lisa) Barrett of Buckeye, AZ and Glen’s children. Two brothers; Darrell (Judy) Peters of Minden, IA and Keith (Teresa) Peters of Surprise, AZ. Ten grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
