Judith Ann "Judy" Spencer... Age 80

Judith Ann (Judy) Spencer age 80 of Osawatomie, Kansas died Saturday, December 18th 2021 at Brookdale of Overland Park.

Judy was born September 13th 1941 in Paola, Kansas. She was the youngest of three born to Daniel Edwin and Edith Alice (Colson) Sullivan. Judy attended the Ursuline Academy in Paola, graduating in 1958.

After high School, Judy started working for the Federal Reserve in Kansas City and then transferred to Indiana in 1963.

While in Indiana, she met Glen Ray Franklin. They married June 19th 1965 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Together the couple had three children Chris, Becky and Mary Alice. Judy stayed home with her kids. The family moved back to Osawatomie in 1972. The marriage later ended in divorce.

Judy worked as an Avon lady for a short time. In 1976, Judy went to work at the Osawatomie State Hospital as a ward clerk. She moved her way up to the accounting department before retiring in 2007. Judy always had two jobs to make sure her family was taken care of. She ran the Kansas City Star paper route and worked part-time at Tri-Ko for a number of years.

In her free time, Judy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was involved in the altar society, taught Sunday School and always brought pies to social events.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, two sisters Mary Lynch and Louise Parrack.

Survivors include her children Chris and Teresa Franklin of Paola, KS, Becky and Darin Vail of Osawatomie, KS and Mary Alice and Jamie Heppler of Osawatomie, KS. 11 grandchildren Amber, Mitchell, Megan, Jacob, Kayleigh, Brittany, Kirstin, Faith, Kenzie, Olivia and Sophia and five great-grandchildren Ryan, Reese, Aiden, Nolan and Henry. Along with other family and friends.
