Karen Lee Pheigaru age 66 of Garnett, KS passed away Saturday May 6, 2023 at Vintage Park
of Osawatomie.
Karen was born July 25, 1956 in Neligh, NE. She was the eldest of six born to Robert and Bonita (Scholl) Pheigaru. Karen grew up in Nebraska where she attended Aurora High School.
During her high school years, she worked at Chuck’s Drive-In and delivered newspapers. With hard work and dedication, Karen graduated early at the end of the semester.
Soon after high school, she married Richard Necker and to this union came a son, Craig. The marriage later ended in divorce. Karen then moved to Polk, NE and married Randy Widga and had two children: Amy and Brandon. The marriage later ended in divorce. While living in Polk,
Karen worked at Coaches Corner for several years until moving to Central City, NE. From there she worked at Central City Mall, GIA in Grand Island, NE, and then Wendy’s in Central City, NE.
In 1997, Karen moved her family to Ottawa, Kansas. She worked for Lowe’s Home Improvement, and later Anderson County Hospital in the housekeeping department. While working her full-time jobs, Karen completed several construction jobs on the side. Karen was your go to gal for any handyman work! When she had free time, Karen enjoyed gardening, watching NASCAR and Chief’s football. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Brandon Widga, and her father, Robert Pheigaru.
Survivors include her mother: Bonita (Scholl) Pheigaru; children; Craig (Brittany) Necker of Green Cove Springs, FL and Amy (Tyler) Reynolds of Garnett, KS, brothers; Mike (Lori) Pheigaru, Jim (Joni) Pheigaru, and Tom Pheigaru, sisters; Linda Pheigaru and Diane (Greg) O’Neil. Grandchildren; Kelsey (fiancé Daniel), Nathaniel Widga, Cadon Reynolds, Lane Reynolds, Ziggy Necker, Raylyn Necker, Breah Necker and Nilan Necker and one great granddaughter Brynlynn; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.


The family would like to thank the staff at Vintage Park of Osawatomie and Ascend Hospice for the care of Karen. Per Karen’s final wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
