Kathleen Denise "Katie" Mitzner age 44 of Osawatomie,KS was called home Sunday December 26, 2021 at Miami County Medical Center.

Katie was born January 29, 1977 in Paola KS. She was the third of five children born to Garrett and Susan (Sumrall) Dempsey. She grew up in Osawatomie and attended the Osawatomie school district, graduating with the class of 1995.

She married James Robert Mitzner in 2001. Together the couple had two children Joseph and Jessa.

Over the past 17 years, Katie has helped run their family business of rentals. While also working in Healthcare staffing.

In her free time, Katie spent it with her children. She was involved in whatever activities they wanted to do. Her children and Jim were her life.

She was preceded in death by her father Garrett Dempsey.

Survivors include her husband Jim, children Joseph and Jessa all of the home. Her mother Susan Dempsey of Osawatomie, KS, in-laws Bill and Mary Beth Mitzner of Osawatomie,KS, sisters Jamie (David) Dees of Osawatomie, KS, Mariann Dempsey of Osawatomie, KS, Natalie Dempsey of Osawatomie, KS and Emily Dempsey of Wichita, KS. Niece Avery Dempsey, nephews Andrew Dees, Garrett Dempsey, and Jackson Dempsey. Along with other nieces, nephews, family and many friends.
