Kenneth Ray “Ken” Huber age 80 of Paola, KS died September 23, 2017 at North Point Skilled Nursing Paola, KS.

Ken was born February 4, 1937 in Buffalo Center, IA. He was the oldest of four children born to Ray and Lucille (Gordon) Huber. He grew up and attended school in Buffalo Center. He graduated from Buffalo Center High School with the class of 1955.

After high school, Ken attended school at Illinois State University and majored in Health and Physical Education. After graduating with his bachelors in 1965 he decided to go back to school to get his master’s degree. He attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio where he received his master’s in Hospital Administration.

Ken and Patricia Ann Thomas were united in marriage on June 17, 1961 in Bloomington, Illinois. Together the couple had three children Scott, Jennifer and Heidi. They made their home in Normal, Illinois.

While in Normal, IL, Ken became the Hospital administrator of Brokaw Hospital for fifteen years. In 1979, he moved to Wichita, KS where he worked for Wesley Medical Center outreach and looked over many rural hospitals. Then in 1992 he moved to Paola, Kansas where he became the administrator of Miami County Medical Center. Ken finally retired in 1996 from Miami County.

After retiring, you could find Ken on the golf course. He loved playing golf at the Paola Country Club. Also at the country club he would play poker and other card games that he and his friends would make up. Ken and Pat owned a lake house at Table Rock Lake where they would go and spend time. He loved spending time with this children and grandchildren. While living in Illinois he was an active member of the Lions Club and the Illinois Hospital Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul Huber.

Suvivors include his wife of 56 years Pat of the home, son Scott (Karen) Huber of Eaglerock, MO, two daughters Jennifer (Robert Frazier) Huber of Arkansas City, KS and Heidi (Torrance) Alexander of Wichita,KS. Eight Grandchildren Amber (Todd) Zeller, Brooke Turner, Meghan (Mike) Day, Nigel Turner, Keyona Alexander, Amil Alexander, Cassandra Alexander and Kameron Alexander and 6 great grandchildren. Two sisters Lydia Eaton and Carol Hum both of Estherville, IA. Along with other family and friends.
