Kenneth Edward Lucas age 74 of Rantoul, KS died Monday July 12, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center.
Ken was born November 11, 1946 in Muncie, Indiana. He was born to Edward and Rose (Mansfield) Lucas. Ken attended school in Eaton, IN. He then enlisted into the United States Navy. Ken did one tour in the Vietnam War. Then was honorably discharged.
Once discharged, Ken started his own carpentry business in Colorado for a while. Then he moved to Kansas and continued doing his carpentry. Over the years Ken has built, added additions, roofed and sided many homes.
On April 15, 1976, Ken and Carol were united in marriage in Olathe, KS. To this union came two children Kendra and Kevin. The family made their home in Rantoul.
In his spare time, Ken enjoyed fishing and hunting. Every year, he planted a huge garden full of vegetables. Ken was a really good cook. He was famous for his BBQ and loved having family over for fish fries.
He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Eagles in Paola, Elks and the Masonic Lodge in Osawatomie.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Carol of the home, daughter Kendra Lucas of Ottawa, KS and son Kevin Lucas of the home. His sister-in-laws, brother-in laws, many nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. Along with many friends.
