Larrie Lynn Kleitz age 81 of Rantoul, KS died August 16, 2018 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS.

Larrie was born January 26, 1937 in Metz, MO. He was the only child born to Earl and Zealia Justine (Robinson) Kleitz.  He grew up in Fulton, KS, where he attended school. Larrie graduated with the Fulton High School Class of 1956.

Straight out of high school, Larrie went to work for Ford. He started as a parts picker in the downtown Kansas City plant. Larrie then worked his way up to parts dispatcher. He also went from the downtown plant to a plant in Lenexa. He retired in 1992 after 36 years working for Ford.

Even when he was working, Larrie farmed. He and his son grew corn hay soybeans and raised cattle. Larrie develop a registered Gelbvieh cattle herd that grew to a large herd after he retired  When his children were younger they all helped on the farm.

In 1957, Larrie married Beverly Erie in Fulton, KS. Together the couple had three children, Zealia Lynn, Darren Layne and Daryl Shane. The marriage later ended. Larrie met JoAnn Coddington and they married March of 1991. They were married at the Green Valley Baptisit Church in rural Osawatomie. They made their home in Rantoul and the two families soon became one large loving family.

Larrie and Jo Ann loved to travel. They traveled across the country in their camper.  Larrie would travel with Jo Ann to craft show so that he could visit while she was selling her artwork. He also loved going to the movie theatre.  Larrie was an avid sports fan. Especially when his children and grandchildren were playing. He never missed a game.

He was the treasurer for the Cutler Township for 30 years. Larrie was on the RWD #6 board for many years. He also was a devoted member of the Green Valley Baptist church for many years.

Larrie was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years Jo Ann, parents and grandson Adam Kleitz.

Survivors include son Darren (Rene) Kleitz of Rantoul, KS, daughter Zealia (Mark) Reeder of Katy, TX and estranged son Daryl Shane (Trudy) Kleitz. Eight grandchildren, Matthew Reeder, Brandon Reeder, Alec Walters, Zachary Kleitz, Dylan Kleitz, Garrett Kleitz, Zealia Kleitz and Dawson Kleitz and three great grandchildren Riley Reeder, Sydney Reeder and Lucie Reeder. Along with other family and many friends.
