Larry Robert Lee, 53, avid hunter, fisherman, motorcycle enthusiast, Kansas City Chiefs fan and beloved husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed peacefully at home in his sleep, November 30, 2020.

Larry was born October 23, 1967 to Robert E. Lee Jr. and Monita (Virgin) Lee.  He was born and raised in Fontana.  He went to school K-12 in the Fontana/Prairie View school system.  Larry graduated high school with the class of 1986. He was recruited in to the United States Marine Corp right out of high school.  Larry did his basic training at San Diego, California starting on September 28 th , 1986, after basic training he was immediately deployed to Okinawa, Japan for a year tour of duty.  Once back state side he was stationed in Twenty-nine Palms, California with his wife and young son Tyler.

On August 12, 1990 he was deployed to Saudi Arabia by way of Spain where he fought in Operation Desert Storm.  Larry received the Navy Commendation Medal for heroic achievement while serving as a tank retriever crewman with a Marine tank battalion.  “In the early morning of Feb. 24, 1991, Cpl. Lee moved to the site of a disabled tank in an enemy mine field.  After making quick assessment of the damage, he boldly moved into the mine field and recovered the damaged tank.  Using meticulous care and judgement, he assisted in pulling the tank into a cleared lane and then out of the mine field entirely.”  He served six years in the United States Marine Corp.  Once returning to civilian life he worked as a carpenter doing dry wall, trim finishing and fiberglass work.  He also built bridges in the KC area.

Larry and his wife Tracie were married June 4, 2011.  They enjoyed going to animal auctions, camping with his survivalist type group and hunting together.  He also enjoyed working on cars with his step-son Dallas.

As a kid Larry and his sister Rhonda enjoyed riding their mini bikes together.  Larry got his motorcycle license at 16 and had always wanted a bike.  He bought a Harley Davidson Night Train in July.  He loved riding it.  If the weather cooperated he was on his bike. He even rode it to Thanksgiving this year.   He spent many weekends riding his bike to watch his grandson Hunter play football while his granddaughter Ember cheered and little Wrangler sat in grandpa’s lap.  Wonderful memories were made.

Larry is survived by his parents Robert and Monita Lee of Fontana.  His sister Rhonda Tyson and husband Roger of Drexel, Mo.  His wife Tracie Lee, of Fontana.  Three sons from his first marriage, Tyler Lee and wife Jackie of Richmond, Mo.  Chase Lee and Cody Lee of Osawatomie, Kansas.  Three grandchildren Ember, Hunter and Wrangler Lee, Richmond, Mo.  Two step-sons Dallas Kline, of Osawatomie and Dekota Ballou, of Ottawa, Ks.  Two nieces Emily Tyson, Drexel, Mo. Ashley Tyson, Pittsburg, Ks. and a nephew Christopher Tyson, Warrensburg, Mo.  Along with many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

Those proceeding him in death include his brother Lawrence Duane Lee, paternal Grandparents Robert (Bob) and Mae Lee, maternal grandparents Kenneth D. Virgin, Lawrence and Viola Rhynerson, Great grandparents Albert and Edith Eastwood, Nellie Reed, and Mae Cox.

Larry was loved greatly and will be missed by all.
