Larry Raymond Rhoades age 76 of Louisburg, KS died Tuesday December 8, 2020 at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City.
Larry was born August 20, 1944 in Paola, KS. He was the second of three children born to Harold Raymond and Katherine Lorene (Johnson) Rhoades. He grew up in Hillsdale and graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1963.
On May 29, 1963, Larry enlisted into the United States Navy. He was stationed in San Diego, California. In May of 1967, Larry was honorably discharged.
After getting out of the military, Larry moved to Wichita where he worked for Cessna for 15 years. Larry moved back to the Miami county area and went to work for Walter’s Foundation doing concrete work. Then he started working in Mission, Kansas doing cabinetry before retiring in the early 2000’s.
In his free time, Larry enjoyed fishing, collecting knives, watches and eagles. He enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandkids. Larry was a very strong and laid back person. He would never let his health effect his humor and attitude. Larry had a strong faith and was an active member of the Living Proof Church in Paola.
He was preceded in death by his son Joshua Rhoades, daughter Lisa Rhoades and his parents.
Survivors include his children, Crystal Alarcon of Osawatomie, KS and Isaac (Rachel) Rhoades of Drexel, MO, brother Carl Rhoades of Ottawa, KS, sister Diane Retherford of Paola, KS, ten grandchildren, with one on the ways and one great grandchildren. Along with other family and friends.
