Lewis Augustine Sanders died Thursday, March 16th surrounded by his children's love. He was born the 7th of 8 children to Joseph William and Edna Mae (Baur) Sanders on June 4, 1932 in Kansas City, KS. He moved at age 4 to Blue Mound where he excelled at sports. After graduation in 1950 he started farming. That was his life's joy. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1951 and was an aviation engineer with radar and altimeter accolades. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He worked for Western Electric and while working at the SWBT office he met Betty Ann Holloway. They married on October 11, 1957. He worked as a Millwright proudly at Colgate Palmolive and retired in 1986. He then enjoyed his retired life beginning involved in the Miami County Fair Board and then the Elks.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all siblings. He also was proceeded in death by a daughter Annette Lynn and his wife Betty and son in law Roger Bryant.
He is survived by his daughter Pam Bryant and Lynnette and John Dunnington of the home. Grandson Chris Watkins and Janelle Vanbeber. Two great grandchildren Adrienne Watkins and Sylvia Rivera. Two God Grandchildren Morgan Eaton and Natalie Eaton. Special nephew and neice Tim and Boogie Sanders.
