Marion David Roseberry, Jr., 81, passed away on September 9, 2017, at Life Care Center in Osawatomie, KS.

Dave, as he was known, was born on June 23, 1936, in Independence, KS. He was the third child of Marion David Roseberry, Sr., & Betty May Irey Roseberry. He attended Paola Schools until he chose to enlist in the United States Marine Corp to defend his country in the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Paola High School to graduate with the class of 1957.

Dave was married to Helen G. Seuferling on July 25, 1959 in Wea, KS. They lived in Osawatomie most of their married life. To this union three sons were born.

Dave held several jobs during his employment career- he was an aide to Osawatomie State Hospital, an assembler at Pitman Manufacturing, & a forklift operator for Exxon Oil, from which he retired in 1997.

Dave was involved in his sons’ youth activities, volunteering to coach baseball, basketball, wrestling, as well as, a scout leader for the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, camping and reading western novels. Dave also was an avid fan of Royals baseball & KU basketball, he watched whenever their games were televised. Dave & Helen also enjoyed going on group trips, the most memorable was to Ireland. However, his grandchildren brought him the most joy, his face lit up whenever one of them entered the room.

He was a member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #10786 and the American Legion Post #156.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Wanda Law & Barbara Crouch.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen; sons Bill (Tammy) of Osawatomie, Gary (Danielle) of Olathe, & John (Shannon) of Paola. His eight grandchildren- Sarah Roseberry-Needham (Trevor) & Amanda Kirk (Jacob); Tad, Taszia & Sam Roseberry; and Mason, Holden & Dalton Roseberry. His two great-granddaughters Jaycie Roseberry & Harper Kirk; and numerous nieces & nephews.
