Mary Ann Montague

Mary Ann Montague age 87 of Osawatomie, Kansas, died Wednesday October 23, 2024, at Olathe Medical Center.

Mary Ann was born June 19, 1937, in Osawatomie, to Clifford Morrison and Lula Martha (McNutt) Montague. Mary Ann attended Osawatomie schools, where she graduated with the Osawatomie Class of 1955. After high school, Mary Ann worked at Schuler’s Bakery in Osawatomie. She then stayed home to take care of her mother. She was a life-long resident of Osawatomie and always enjoyed keeping up with the people and activities of her hometown.

Mary Ann attended the Assembly of God Church in Osawatomie and also SouthWoods Christian Church in Overland Park with her family.  Her faith was very important to her.

In her spare time, she was an avid reader who enjoyed puzzles, games, bingo, Hallmark movies and her family’s pets. But most of all, she enjoyed people! Mary Ann was always interested in others and had an amazing memory.  She especially enjoyed visiting with people face-to-face, but in recent years, she also enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends via social media.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lula Montague, and her brother, William C. Montague.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Naomi Montague of Broken Arrow, OK; nephew, Greg (Laurie) Montague of Stilwell, KS; niece, Cindy Montague of Broken Arrow, OK; and great nephews, Joe (Anna) Montague of Louisburg, KS and Joshua Montague of Overland Park, KS.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, October 30th at SouthWoods Christian Church, 16110 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS. Family will receive guests at 1:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm.  Donations may be given in Mary Ann’s memory to Cross Point Church in Osawatomie https://cpchurch.tv/welcome , or to SouthWoods Christian Church www.southwoods.org.
