Mary Lynne Lilleston age 87 of Paola, KS died Thursday November 15, 2018 at her home.
Lynne was born May 21, 1931 in LaPlata, MO. She was the youngest of three born to Damon W. and Luella Darlene (Stribling) Beall. She grew up in LaPlata where she attended school. At the age of 15, Lynne was married and started her family. By the age of 21, she had four children Gene, Joyce, Stan and Caryle. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Before her children were in school, Lynne stayed at home. Then when they all were in school, she went to work. She worked at Collin’s Radio, she babysat and was a nurse’s aide all in Cedar Rapids, IA. Then in 1969, Lynne and the children moved to Olathe, KS. She then worked at Marley’s and Delco Battery before she started her career in custodial work. Lynne worked for the City of Overland Park for a few years until transferring to the City of Lenexa for the remainder of her career. In 1993, Lynne retired from the City of Lenexa. After retirement, she decided to keep busy by cleaning houses part time.
On October 14, 1983, Lynne married Donald Lilleston in Lenexa, KS. The couple lived in Olathe until 1992, when they moved to their home in Paola, KS. Don and Lynne shared a love for Ham Radio. They were in a club. Lynne’s call sign was KCOGLU.
Lynne loved to garden. She and Don would plant a huge garden every year and she would can anything that she could. Lynne was an animal lover. She had chickens, cats and dogs. She rescued a few cats and dogs over the years. When her children were little she sewed and would make them clothes. She was a great cook. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Stan Parks, her parents, brother George Beall and sister Eva Mae Sees.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Don of the home, children Gene (Linda) Parks of Cedar Rapids, IA, Joyce Bodine of Phoenix, AZ and Caryle Parks of Olathe, KS. Step- Children Jim Lilleston of Overland Park, KS and Robin Chevalier of Parkville, MO. Grandchildren Jeff (Susan) Parks, Mark (Stephanie) Parks, Chad Parks, Kelsey Lilleston, Conner Lilleston, Lucas Chevalier, Landon Chevalier and Tina Bodine and 10 great grandchildren. Along with other family and friends.
