Mary Elizabeth Martin age 67 of LaCygne, KS died Saturday January 2, 2021 at her home.

Mary was born November 17, 1953 in Gardner, KS. She was the fifth child in her blended family of ten.  Born to Harold Francis and Elizabeth Belle (Fields) Martin. She was raised by her step father James Barnett. She attended school in Osawatomie where she graduated with the Class of 1972.

After high school, Mary went to a tech school and worked as a accountant/bookkeeper. Mary traveled around with different jobs. To places like New Jersey, New York and Texas. Then in 2005, Mary moved back to Miami County and stayed with her family. She then met the love of her life Charlie Diehm.

In her spare time, Mary enjoyed watching Hallmark and Lifetime channels and Law & Order: SVU. She read true crime and horror books. Family was number one to Mary. She loved her family and spending time with them whenever she could.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Francis Martin and Elizabeth Belle Fields Barnett, brothers Larry Pottorff and Jimmy Dale Barnett, sisters Nancy Pottorff Gonzales, Elizabeth Rhine, Ruby Barnett and Kathy Sanders and her significant other Charlie Diehm.

Survivors include her siblings Jamie Harper of LaCygne, KS, Millie Maxwell of Topeka, KS and Richard Barnett of Fontana, KS. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
