Mary Kathryn Unruh age 61 of Osawatomie, Kansas died Wednesday May 24, 2017 at her home.

Mary Kathryn was born August 18, 1955 in Houston, TX. She was the first of four children born to Lawrence Patrick & Mary Louise (Williams) Raub. Her father was a major in the United States Air Force so they traveled a lot. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1973.

After high school, Mary Kathryn was married and had three children. She married Albert Lee “Bert” Unruh Jr. on April 23, 1982 in Olathe, KS. The family made their home in Johnson County. Until 2000, when they moved to the Miami County Area.

Mary Kathryn worked various jobs. She worked for the State of Kansas in the unemployment office. She and Bert started their own home improvement business. Her last job was a job coach at Lakemary Center of Paola, KS.

When she was younger, Mary Kathryn and her twin brother sang at the Sing out for America by Heart of America. She loved to sing and play the guitar. Mary Kathryn was a very crafty lady and loved to bead. She had a very infectious smile. She was kind hearted and touched everyone she knew. Mary Kathryn was an amazing mother to her three children and some of her grandchildren also. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Osawatomie and also a member of the Miami County chapter of Thrive.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sons Mason George Unruh and David Thomas Unruh.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years Bert of the home, children Kathryn Marie Chehady of Paola, KS, Abigail Unruh and great grandson Douglas of Osawatomie, KS, Daniel Unruh of Osawatomie, KS. Grandchildren Jacob Unruh and Joshua Unruh of Paola, KS, Mason Blayne “Ruh” Unruh of Arizona, Sydney Unruh of Overland Park, KS , Kaitlyn Boyle of Junction City, KS and Brittany Baker of Springfield, MO. Three Brothers, twin Steve (Jeri) Raub of Washington, Robert “Bob” (Dee Dee) Raub of Oregon and Bill “Sam” Raub of Oregon. Along with other family and friends.
