Michael Allen Stewart, age 45, of Osawatomie, KS, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Miami County Medical Center.

Michael was born December 20, 1971, in Shawnee Mission, KS. He is the younger of two sons born to David Allen and Mary Ann (Akers) Stewart. He grew up in Osawatomie and attended school in the Osawatomie School District.

After high school Michael worked at McDonald's as a cook and then as a security guard at Olathe Medical Center. In 1994, he started at Marley (SPX Cooling Technologies) as a laborer, eventually working his way up to a lead operator. He worked for Marley for nearly 23 years. Michael married Steva Masters and together they had two children, Devon and Dylan. The marriage later ended in divorce.

On October 10, 2010, Michael married Jolene Greenough at the Old Stone Church in Osawatomie. Michael not only gained a wife, but he also gained a daughter, Jorja. Michael and Jolene renewed their vows at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on May 17, 2013.

Michael was a hard worker, a movie buff, and he enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing for bass and going hunting. He also liked to BBQ and was a big NASCAR fan, especially of his favorite driver, #14 Tony Stewart. Michael was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Osawatomie since he was a child. He was an Altar boy and would help his Grandma Doris clean the church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Michael was a kind hearted man and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Allen Stewart.

Survivors include his wife Jolene of the home, children Devon Stewart of Paola, KS, Dylan (Harleigh) Stewart of Oceanside, CA, and Jorja Beard of the home, his mother Mary Ann Stewart of Osawatomie, KS, and brother David (Jamie) Stewart of Paola, KS, along with many other family and friends.

Michael will be greatly missed by many.
