Mildred Aldine (Addy) Weidman, age 92, of Olathe, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 19, 2017, at the Olathe Medical Center.
“Millie” was born October 23, 1925, in Fontana, Kansas. She was the elder daughter of Ely and Fern (Stevens) Addy. She graduated from the Fontana school in the Class of 1943 and attended Kansas State University.
Millie was married to Merle Edward Weidman on April 3, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri. They made their home in Berea, Ohio for a year and a half and then moved to Parma, Ohio, living there for six years.
Millie and Merle became the parents of three children. They had also lived in Rochester, New York for 17 years. Millie and Merle moved back home to the Kansas City area in 1976. Millie has made Olathe her home since 1976.
A long time homemaker, Millie also worked in the Medical Records Department at the Olathe Medical Center before retiring in 1999.
Millie was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her passions included reading, playing cards and serving the Lord. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Olathe and attended several others before her passing.
She is preceeded in death by her parents and her dear husband Merle. She is survived by her son; Michael Weidman of Paola; two daughters, Michelle McClellan of Gardner and Maria Boice of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister Eileen Logan of Warsaw, Missouri; six grandchildren, Christopher Weidman, Megan Weidman, Katherine McClellan, Joshua McClellan, Vincent Boice, and Liliana Boice; two great grandchildren, Carlee Weidman and Ephraim Weidman; and other relatives and friends.
Millie will be buried in the Fontana, Kansas Cemetery next to her husband Merle on Thursday, December 28, 2017.
