Mitchell Ray Marsh age 58 of Paola, KS died Monday December 2, 2019 at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City.

Mitch was born April 25, 1961 in Fort Scott, KS. He was the youngest of three sons born to Albert Herbert & Peggy Ann (Morrow) Marsh. He grew up in Johnson County, KS. He attended school in the Shawnee Mission School District, graduating with the Shawnee Mission North Class of 1979.

After high school, Mitch began a 40 year career with Teague Electric, where he worked as a residential electrician, training countless electricians in the trade over the years. Mitch was part of the Teague family, and he built many meaningful friendships along the way.

In 1980, Mitch married Pamela Sanders in Overland Park, KS. They made their home in Olathe, KS. Together they spent 20 years raising three children, Melissa, Amy and Eric. The marriage ended in divorce in 2002.

Mitch was a jack of all trades, to say the least. He enjoyed creating, tinkering, and working with his hands, building things for his children, and then his grandchildren. Mitch was a dog lover, the life of the party, and a patriotic American. Mitch showed kindness and goodwill in many non-traditional ways, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Most of all, he was a fun and loving Dad and Grandad.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his children Melissa (Garret) Basgall of Basehor, KS, Amy (David) Saunders of Osawatomie, KS and Eric (Brittany) Marsh of Overland Park, KS. Five grandchildren, Riley, Charley, Hayden, Everly and Liam. Brothers Herb (Angie) Marsh of Merriam, KS and Mike (Jan) Marsh of Osawatomie, KS. Along with other family and many friends.
