Nancy Schieber, 69, passed away Saturday, January 2 nd , 2021, at her home in Osawatomie, KS.
Nancy was born July 22 nd , 1951 in Kansas City, MO. She was the third of seven children born to John T. and Ruth (Hough) Reed. She grew up in Kansas City, MO, where she attended St. Francis Xavier grade school, and Bishop Hogan High School.
During her life, Nancy lived in North Carolina, Hawaii, Connecticut, Alabama, Germany, Linton, KY, Herndon, KY, and Overland Park, KS, before moving to Osawatomie four years ago. She retired in 2012 from the Department of Defense. She was a team leader for Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, was active in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, and enjoyed spending time with her knitting and bunco groups.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Dan Simons.
She is survived by her husband David Schieber, her son Robert Ballard (Maureen) of Honolulu, HI, her daughter Jennifer Bentley (Andrew) of New Orleans, LA, a stepson Jason McCain (Brittany) of Moreno Valley, CA, a stepdaughter Dana Braxton (John) of Clarksville, TN, four grandchildren, Jonathan Bentley, Ailani Bentley, Jasmine Bentley and Alexsys Bentley, and a stepgrandchild Ali Haddock. She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Green (Dennis), Lenexa, KS, Mary Gaston, Kansas City, MO, and four brothers, John Reed (Robin), Kansas City, MO, James Reed, Kansas City Kansas, Joseph Reed (Joyce), Overland Park, KS, and David Reed (Carmen) of Shawnee, KS, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and her beloved canine, ND. She left a lasting impression on people she met.
