Opal Evelyn Rogers age 80 of Osawatomie, KS died Friday January 11, 2019 at her home.

Evelyn was born January 27, 1938 in Hepler, KS. She was the fifth of six children born to Joseph Raymond and Edna Francis (Pulliam) Harrison.

In 1955, Evelyn and Roy W. Reed were united in marriage. Together the couple had five children Diana, Garry, Vern, Karla and Ray. They made their home in Osawatomie. Their marriage later ended in divorce. Then in 1974, Evelyn and Wayne A. Rogers were united in marriage. They made their home in Osawatomie until Wayne passed away in 2009.

Throughout the years, Evelyn worked various jobs. She waited tables and became a beautician right out of school. Then when she had her children she became a homemaker and stay at home mom. Then she decided to go back into the workforce when he youngest was 10 years old. She worked in a donut and bakery shop at the same time she baked pies for a local restaurant. For a short time Evelyn worked at Safeway as a cashier until she started her career at King Radio. She worked for the company through the different company names Bendict and then Honey Well. Around 2003, Evelyn retired from Honey Well after many years of service.

Evelyn enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She was a skilled seamstress and loved to sew. Evelyn could never pass up shopping at a thrift store or garages sale. She baked all the time. She enjoyed being outdoors. Evelyn’s greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren!

She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Rogers, son Garry Reed, parents, brothers Harvey Harrison, Joe Roy Harrison and George Harrison and her sister Francis M. Beerbower.

Survivors include children Diana Reed of Sarasota, FL, Vern Reed of Osawatomie, KS, Karla (Doug) Ballew of Paola, KS and Ray (Kimberly) Reed of Richmond, KS. Nine Grandchildren, Michelle Taylor, Ericka Hobbs, Alisha Darwent, Angela Reed, Ashley Ramsey, Tina Palmer, Tabitha Finley, Chris Reed and Lisa Divine. 19 great grandchildren Jossie, Sierra, Wyland, Garet, Conner, Makayla, Brianna, Savanah, Ethan, Gavin, Mallory, Jillian, Lexie, Kashton, Leigha, Kalvin, Bodhi, Jaxon and Zoey. One brother Eddie L. Harrison of Fort Scott, KS. Along with other family and friends.
