Patrick Lynn Karigan.... Age 50

Patrick L. Karigan age 50 of Osawatomie, KS died Tuesday December 28, 2021 at his home.

Pat was born March 22, 1971 in Paola, KS. He was the younger of two boys born to Charles Eugene and Mary Jane (Sommer) Karigan.

His Dad was in the service and was stationed in several places including Virginia, Maryland, Florida and Texas. They then moved to Greeley, KS when he was in first grade and lived there until his sophomore year when they moved to Osawatomie where he graduated with the Class of 1989.  He lived in Osawatomie until his death.

After school, Pat went into the workforce. Most of his working life he worked in the steel business. He worked for Doherty Steel and Haven Steel which later turned into Schuff Steel. Pat was a welder, he worked in maintenance and was safety director.

In 1996, Pat married Kelly Bruce. To this union came one son Tanier. The marriage later ended in divorce. Then in 2001, Pat married Jennifer Savage. The couple had one son, Levi. Pat also gained a daughter, Taylor. The marriage later ended in divorce.

In his free time, Pat’s favorite thing was spending time with his children and watching his son’s play sports. Pat was a jokester. He always pulling jokes on his friends and family. Pat spent time riding his motorcycle and shooting guns with his boys. He also kept in close contact with group of guys that were like his brothers. Pat was a wonderful Son, Brother, Dad and Grandpa and would do anything for anybody.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Karigan, step-father Herman Fields, grandparents Jim and Zella Karigan and John and Viola Sommer.

Survivors include his children Tanier (Hannah) Karigan of Paola, KS, Levi Karigan of Lawrence, KS, daughter Taylor O’Dell of Garnett, KS and granddaughter Everleigh. His mother Jane Fields of Paola, KS, brother Daniel (Barbara) Karigan of Paola, KS, step- siblings Sarah (Donnie) Trumbly of Melissa, TX and Jeff (Shannon) Fields of Osawatomie, KS. Along with his “other brothers”, Steve Hastings, Billy Butler, Jeff Pearce, Ron Taylor, Jim Jones and Ed & Diana Clearwater. Also survived by many other friends and family.
