Ralph Adell Madden age 77 of Beagle, Kansas died Saturday April 8, 2017 at Miami County Medical Center.

Ralph was born September 29, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the second of six children born to Marvin Adell and Martha Lucille (Barnes) Madden. He grew up in Muncie, KS and attended grade school and high school in the Turner school district. He married Erma Bruffett on February 10, 1958 in Olathe, KS. They made their home in Kansas City, Kansas. Together they had three children Ralph Jr., Debbie and Kimberly.

In 1958, Ralph went to work for his Dad in the family sanitation business. Then he started his own in 1962 called Leawood homes and Madden & Sons sanitation. After 23 years of being a business owner, Ralph sold his business to Deffenbaugh and they offered him a job as Supervisor of Dispatch. Then in the early 2000’s, Ralph decided to retire from Deffenbaugh and he moved to Beagle, Kansas to live.

He loved to tinker in the garage. Ralph could take a car or tractor down to the frame and restore it as if it was new. In his younger days, Ralph loved to ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He would even compete in races and hill climbs on his motorcycles. He loved to go to auctions to find treasurers and enjoyed tractor pulls. When he moved to Beagle he attended the Beagle Methodist Church.

Ralph was a loving man not only to his family but also to his friends. He was always there to lend a hand when needed. He was a very hard working man and loved his lil coonhound Sissy.

He was preceded in death by his son Ralph Madden Jr., his parents, his sister Sharon Lee Nunley and his 2 ^nd wife Barbara Madden.

Survivors include wife Erma Madden, daughters Debbie (Bob) Odle Basehor, KS and Kimberly (Kevin) Flora of Piper, KS. Three grandchildren Nicholas Flora, Ashley Odle and Mallory Flora and three great grandchildren Sophia, Violet and Margo. Brothers Marvin Madden Jr. of Kansas City, KS and Dale Madden of Platte City, MO and sisters Helen Boyd of Edwardsville, KS and Donna Hartford of Olathe, KS. Along with other family and friends.
