Mr. Richard Scott Fitzwater, son of Wanda Louine and Richard Clarence Fitzwater and a lifelong resident of Kansas City, passed away from natural causes on August 9th, 2020 at the age of 59.
Scott was an avid musician, a patriot, and a dog lover. He was a musical inspiration to his family and friends, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. In his youth, he was an excellent saxophone player and enjoyed the drums and guitar as well throughout his adult life.
Scott lived in Raytown during elementary school, relocating to Lone Jack for his high school years. He was a giving man who was always willing to do what he could for others if he thought he could help them. Scott was resilient and was amazingly strong in the face of adversity.
Scott is survived by his mother, Wanda Louine Green, his brother, Brad Fitzwater and his sisters, Nicci Netter of Goodyear AZ, Michele Dupont of Olathe KS, Christine Benne of Manhattan KS, and Vickie Green of Lee's Summit MO, his brothers-in-law, David Netter and Wayne DuPont and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family is encouraging charitable donations to NAMI.
