Richard Hughes went to be with the lord Saturday January 12th 2019 at his home after a short battle with lung Cancer.

Richard was born May 31, 1954 in Blue Springs MO to John and Eloise Hughes. Richard attended school in Blue Springs where he Graduated High School. After High School he went to Barber School  and became a licensed Barber. He did a short term  in the Army however he was discharged for medical purposes. Richard worked for Johnson County for over 30 years Retiring in 2010. He also got his degree in Small Engine Repair and worked on lawn mowers in his spare time. He enjoyed reading his Bible and watching Charles Stanley on television.

Richard Married Delana Ashley (Hughes) on August 26th, 1977 and out of that union came their two children Amanda (Hughes) Nugent and Adam Hughes. Richard and Delana resided in Olathe KS until moving to Gardner KS in 1994
After her death in 2011, Richard became engaged to his Fiancé Cheyenne Cherokee and had a wedding date set for Valentines Day this year.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Delana Hughes.

Richard is survived by his Dad John Hughes and his Wife Pat Hughes-Joplin,MO, Fiancée Cheyenne Cherokee-of the home, Son Adam Hughes- of the Home, Daughter Amanda (Hughes) Nugent Gardner, KS
Son-in-Law Matthew Nugent- Gardner KS, and one Granddaughter Emily Nugent-Gardner KS
