Rilda Izora (Matney) Bingaman

November 2, 1930 — August 29, 2023

Rilda Izora Matney Bingaman, 92, passed away peacefully to the arms of the Lord, Tuesday August 29, 2023, in Benton AR.
She was born Nov 2, 1930, at home, and was the second of 6 children to Howard Matney and Lola Manchester Matney in Osawatomie KS, where she was raised.
Rilda graduated in 1949 from Osawatomie High School. She was united in marriage to the Love of her Life, William L. Bingaman (Billy) in 1952. He was in the Marine Corps which led them to Oceanside Calif. where their daughter Darcy was born, and then to Norman Okla where Rilda became the director of her church day care. After Billys retirement from the Marines in 1968 and the FAA in 1984, they returned to Osawatomie and she was overjoyed to be back in Kansas, near her family. She then began working for the Post Office at the State Hospital.
Rilda was of Methodist faith and a member of The First Christian Church in Osawatomie. She loved the church, family, sewing, raising her Boston Terriers and was passionate about quilting. She made many beautiful quilts over the years, and she was well known for her lemon meringue and chocolate cream pies.
In 2014 Rilda moved to Arkansas to be near her daughter. She became very active at the local Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Ron Matney, sister Phyllis Matney Maxwell, and sister Judy Matney Barrett.
Family members left to cherish her beautiful memory are her daughter Darcy Bingaman Crowson (Todd) of Benton AR, her brother Fred Matney of Osawatomie, her sister Mary Etta Matney Markham (Phil) Erie KS, 2 grandchildren Destarta Cotter Dycus (Chet) Bryant AR, Chris Cotter (Carrie) Bedford TX and 4 great-grandsons Noah Flack, Jordan Cotter, Isaac Cotter and Elijah Cotter and many other special family members and friends.
Family and friends will gather graveside to celebrate Rildas life Saturday October 14th at 10:30AM at the Beagle Cemetery.
