Ronald “Ron” Lynn Eastwood, age 58 passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday, March 6, 2022.
Ron was born in Paola, KS on February 15, 1964. He was the second son born to Albert Leon Eastwood and Shirley (Cornett) Eastwood. He attended Fontana Elementary then Prairie View High School in LaCygne, KS where he graduated with the Class of 1982. Ron went on to attend NCK Technical College in Beloit, KS where he graduated with an associate Degree in Diesel Mechanics. He accepted a job later with Vermeer Great Plains. He worked for Vermeer until he retired in 2009 to continue running the farm.
On March 24, 1984, he was united in marriage to Karyn Lane and from this union would come the birth of two daughters; Julie in 1984 and Jennifer in 1990. The family would make their home in Fontana, KS. Ron and Karyn’s marriage ended in divorce.
In 2007, Ron married Heather Swank in Olathe, KS. This marriage also ended in divorce.
For many years Ron worked the family farm, custom farmed and worked cattle. While the girls were in school, he was actively involved with Mound Builders 4-H Club, Prairie View FFA and he spent many nights and weekends with the girls at horse shows, rodeos and cattle shows. He donated his vacation time every year to work the Miami County Fair and the American Royal Show. In his free time, he like to travel and hunt. He especially loved bear hunting.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Albert Eastwood, his grandparents Fern and Louie Cornett and Edith and A.A. Eastwood.
He is survived by his daughter’s Julie (Daniel) Parsons of Benedict, KS, Jennifer (Andrea) Eastwood of Parker, KS, mother Shirley Wright of Fontana, KS, brother Rex (Gail) Eastwood of Fontana, KS, brother Andy (Michelle) Eastwood of Fontana, KS, Aunt Pansy (Bob) Bigley of Paola, KS, Uncle Bob Cornet of Fontana, KS lifelong friends the Buck Toncray family and the Chris Carstens family of Fontana, KS and many other family and friends.
Ron is also survived by his grandchildren LaRee, Lanye and Jordyn. Niece’s Kylee and Kimberly and his nephew AJ.
