Roosevelt "Buddy" Drayton... Age 76

Roosevelt was born on January 12, 1945 in Helena, Arkansas to Lillie Mae Drayton and Charlie Jones. He departed his life at Life Care Center of Osawatomie on December 7, 2021.

He was the second oldest of seven children. Roosevelt attended his early education at Helena School District and afterwards he would leave home to start his adult life.

Roosevelt accepted Christ at an early age at the Silver Cloud Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.W. Webb.

He did various jobs in his life like working on transmissions, traveling over the road being a professional painter until his mother died.

He then moved to Osawatomie, Kansas in 1995 to live with his youngest brother Earnest and his family. He worked for E.K. Campbell whom later was bought out by Thomas & Beet, after that he went to work for Ross Construction until his health failed.

In 2009, Roosevelt suffered a major stroke and entered Life Care Center of Osawatomie, KS where this became his dear family for the last 12 years.

Roosevelt married Mary Drayton; that marriage ended in divorce. He later married Barbara Marie Brown; she died in 2005. He had no children of his own but he took his younger brothers children Cordeus, Ciara and Elrus under his wing as his own.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Clyde Jones, Walter Anderson, 3 nieces; Dorothy Warren, Barbara Warren & Lynette Johnson and 1 nephew, Walter Anderson Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories 2 brothers; Earnest (Gloria) Anderson, Osawatomie, KS; Charlie Jones Jr Poplar Grove, AR; 5 sisters; Annie Donalds, Benton, Harbor, MI; Bertha Anderson, Homewood, IL; Mattie (Calvin) Bracy and Lynette Johnson of Chicago, IL, and Maelene Smith of Joliet, IL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
