Rosalie Ann Hall, age 85 of Osawatomie, Kansas died July 12, 2017 in Hermitage, Missouri. Rosalie was born May 30, 1932 in Osawatomie, Kansas. She was the youngest of two daughters born to William James and Florence May (Bartlett) Wiseman.
She grew up near Osawatomie and attended elementary school at the Green Valley one room school. She attended high school in Osawatomie.
Alvin E. Hall and Rosalie were married on October 20, 1949 in Ottawa, Kansas.
They lived in Spring Hill and Mound City where their family started. Then in 1956 they moved to a farm west of Osawatomie until 1971, when they built a new home on the same farm where Rosalie grew up. Together Alvin and Rosalie had three children:
Susan, Richard and Gerald. She was a homemaker while their children were younger and in 1970 she worked at the Ben Franklin store. After that she worked at American State Bank in customer service. In 1980 Rosalie, Alvin and their daughter purchased the Coker's Store in Osawatomie where she worked until the store closed in 1986. On the day they closed she was asked to go to work at First National Bank as a teller and after eight years, retired.
Rosalie was a pianist for Green Valley Baptist Church for 32 years, often playing for three services each week. She taught bible school, Sunday school and gave private piano lessons. She enjoyed gardening and yard work. She and Alvin enjoyed traveling, including cruises, camping trips, and taking their family to Hawaii. She was a member of the Green Valley Social Club.
Family was very important to Rosalie. She was famous for her cherry pie and would always prepare more food than necessary for family gatherings.
She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin of 54 years, her parents and sister
Beth Johnson.
Survivors include children Susan (Roy) Johnson of Hermitage, Missouri, Richard (Susan) Hall of Emporia, Kansas and Gerald (Susie) Hall of Osawatomie.
Seven grandchildren, Kendall (Karin Patterson) Cullumber, Ronald (Melissa) Hampton, Allison Hall, Lacey (Michael) Kennett, Jenny (Craig) Pearson, Jacob Hall and Brandon Hall. Seven great grandchildren Brittney, Chase, Easton, Gracie, Kate, Harrison and Landry and one great great grandchild, Sophiea, along with other family and friends.
