Rosemary Preston-Alexander age 82 of Osawatomie, KS died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes, Thursday May 14, 2020 at Lifecare Center of Osawatomie.

Rosemary was born September 2, 1937 in Chiles, KS. She was the youngest of three born to Fred Cecil and Darley (Henness) Witt. She grew up in Paola graduating with the Paola High School class of 1955.

After high school, Rosemary became the mother of two children Jay and Mary Ann. She stayed at home with them until they were grown. Then she went into the work force. Rosemary worked for a dry cleaner, JCPenney’s Outlet and then the uniform department at the Argosy Casino amongst several other jobs.

On August 5, 2000, Rosemary married Michael Alexander in Spring Hill, KS. They made their home in Paola and eventually Osawatomie.

In her free time, Rosemary loved gardening and grew beautiful flowers. She enjoyed reading and collecting things. Family was everything to Rosemary. Her favorite things was getting together for family dinners especially with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Darley Witt and brothers Donald Witt and Glenn Witt.

Survivors include husband of almost 20 years Michael of the home, daughter Mary Ann Byrum and husband Cliff Byrum of King George, VA and son Jay Preston of Hutchinson, KS and wife Brenda Preston of Osawatomie KS , six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two  great great grandchildren.
