Russell Robert Owens Sr

Russell Robert Owens Sr age 70 of Kansas City, MO formerly of Osawatomie, KS passed away Monday May 29, 2023 at KU Medical Center.

Russell was born June 17, 1952 in Kansas City, KS. He was the fifth of eight children born to Frank Maynard Owens Sr and Corinne V. (Cox) Owens. Russell grew up in Kansas City, KS where he attended school until he enlisted into the United States Army. He served for 4 years and was honorably discharged.

After being discharged, Russell worked for Roto Rooter and then started his career in construction. He became an equipment operator and ran an excavator until retirement. In his free time, Russell enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He always helped anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Owens, parents, four brothers; Frank Jr., Raymond, David and Steven Owens, two sisters Carol Frye and Sharon Kay Owens.

Survivors include children; Russell (Jen) Owens of Kansas City, KS, Eddie Owens of Kansas City, KS and Jessica Laudan of Kansas City, MO and sister Wilma Bell. Grandchildren; Russell Wilson, Christopher Owens, Samantha Owens, Lucas Owens, Ryan Wilkerson, Paige Torset, Porche Owens, Alexcia Owens, Eddie Owens Jr, Joseph Owens, Codey Starns and Alicen Owens and sixteen great grandchildren. Along with other family and many friends.
