Tanya Kay Ashley Harris.. Age 61

Tanya Kaye Ashley Harris age 61 of Parker KS died July 7, 2022 at her home.

Tanya was born December 21, 1960 in Lawrence Kansas. She was the eldest of seven born to Walker F and Alice L (Carpenter) Ritch. She attended school in Osawatomie receiving her GED. Then went on to get her associates degree in business at Fort Scott community college.

On August 31, 1979, Tanya and Rick “Ed” Ashley were united in marriage in Paola, KS. To this union were born David and Allen. The couple was married for 40 years until Ed‘s passing in 2019.

Tanya and Darrell Harris were married January 21, 2021 in Miami Oklahoma. Although short, their marriage was joyous and full of love. The couple made their home in Parker Kansas.

Tanya worked for the Osawatomie public library for 11 years. For the last eight months she managed the senior apartments in Osawatomie.

In her spare time, Tanya enjoyed plants and flowers. She enjoyed taking evening car rides with her husband and chatting about the day. She loved doing crafts and most of all reading mystery and romance novels. Over the years Tanya has perfected her biscuit recipe. Tanya was a sweetheart and she will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Ashley, her father, her brothers Franklin Ritch and James Ritch.

Survivors include her husband Darrell Harris of the home, children David Ashley of Garnett KS and Allen (Mary) Ashley of Ottawa, KS, stepchildren Ryan Harris and Zachary Harris both of Gilman City, MO, step grand children; Mercadez Dawson, Michael (Rebecca Thompson) Casida, Mariah Casida, Blake McGlothlin, step grandchildren Riley Harris, Allie Harris, Memphis Harris, and Morgan Harris and one great grandchild Vea Wol, her mother Alice Pond of Grandview, MO, siblings; Jacque Kreusch of Webster, SD, Julie Hall of Raymore, MO, Eric Ritch of Spring Hill, MO and Justin Ritch of Buffalo, MO. Along with other family and friends.
