Thadene A Walker, age 95 of Osawatomie, KS went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 8, 2021. Thadene Alene Blair was born on May 12, 1926 in Cherokee County Kansas to the late Henry and Elsie (Williams) Blair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Walker and brother Cleo Othel Blair.
On August 15, 1948 she married Donald Walker of rural Weir Kansas. Thadene joined her husband in service to the church as a pastor’s wife. Together they were immersed in the Christian community where Thadene played piano, taught Sunday school and worked as church secretary. Their ministry spanned 38 years in 7 Kansas churches and 18 years in 3 Colorado churches. She moved to Osawatomie in 2004 and resided there until her death. Away from her service in the church she loved working in the yard and especially enjoyed her flowers. She actively pursued her crafts and was always busy. She maintained her flowers and mowed her yard until she was 94, receiving the community” Yard of the Month” award in 2010.
Thadene will be missed by her three children, Doug Walker, (Diana) of Osawatomie, KS, Dannie Walker, (Donna) of Butler, TN and Joye Walker, of Bayfield Co. her 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
