Verenia Nash age 52 of Osawatomie, KS died Sunday October 14, 2018 at Miami County Medical Center.

Verenia was born February 21, 1966 in Hutchinson, KS. She was the eldest of four children born to Richard and Billie Jean (Boyer) Alonzo. They grew up in Osawatomie and attended school there until her sophomore year in high school when she transferred to Paola, KS. She graduated from Paola High School with the Class of 1985.

In November of 1986, Verenia and Brian Nash were united in marriage in Paola where they made their home. She was a housewife at the beginning of their marriage. Then she went to work at Tri-Ko Inc. She also loved volunteering. She volunteered for a women’s clinic in Kansas City, Missouri and also the Light House Church in Paola.

Verenia loved shopping. Most of the time she shopped for others rather than herself. She was a very giving person even when she didn’t have enough to give. Her favorite thing was to give gifts to her family and friends.  Verenia attended church at Light House Presbyterian Church in Paola. She loved to sing in church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Brian and her parents.

Survivors include sister Connie Schwegler of Overland Park, KS, brothers Richard Alonzo Jr. of Gardner, KS and Derek Alonzo of Paola, KS. Three nieces Chanel, Megan and Camry and one nephew Richard Alonzo III. Along with other family and friends.
