Walter Lee Anderson Sr. was born on June 20, 1954 to Lillie Mae Drayton and Samuel Anderson in Helena, Arkansas. He departed this life on October 20, 2020 in Olathe, KS at the Olathe Hospice House.

He attended Central High School in Helena, Arkansas and was a graduate of the Class of 1973.  After high school Walter moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he married his first wife Winnate Nicholson Anderson whom preceded him in death. While in Chicago he worked for Zenith and was an over the road truck driver.

Walter later moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas where he married his second wife Dorothy Johnson Anderson who he married in March 1992. The marriage ended in divorce in 2014.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. Walter accepted his call into the ministry under the leadership of Pastor Kerry Price Sr. of the Breath of Life Church and Evangelistic ministry. Walter loved the family life, truck driving, ministry, visiting his family, reading faith based books, watching sports, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with Xavier (G-Baby); Carissa (babe); and Kiara (baby), family and friends were a great joy in Walter’s life. He enjoyed his talks with Melvin, Alex, Jerry, Dick, Freddie and Joel. They gave him great joy.

After a long battle with health issues he moved to Osawatomie on January 6, 2006 to live with his youngest Brother Earnest and Gloria Anderson and their children, Cordeus, Ciara, Elrus & Kyia. Walter made the best life he could with all the sickness and pain he had to endure.

When his health would allow, he attended Friendship Faith Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Leroy and Pastor Essie McConico. He fought a good fight and finished his course and has a crown of righteousness awaiting him.

Walter was preceded in death by both of his parents; his only son Walter Lee Anderson Jr (Lil Walt);3 nieces Dorothy& Barbara Warren & Lynette Johnson (Beanie), 1 sister Bernice Anderson; 2 brothers Pastor Silas Anderson and Julius Anderson; 1sister in law Yvonne Anderson; 3 Brother in laws George Alexander, Sammie Donald and Leroy Braggs.

He leaves to cherish his memories Earnest (Gloria) Anderson of the home; 5 sisters Lola Alexander of West Helena, Arkansas; Annie Warren Donald of Benton Harbor, MI; Bertha Anderson Homewood, Ill; Mattie (Calvin) Bracy & Lynette Johnson of Chicago, Ill; 2 brothers Roosevelt Drayton of Osawatomie, KS & James Anderson of Memphis, TN, 4 daughters Sheronda & LaDonna Nicholson of Chicago, Ill; Yolanda & Tiffani Anderson of Hanover, Maryland; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and a host of nieces nephews and friends.
